Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog, but things have been hectic. So, dive in, and let’s talk about my recent book signing, life in general, and my upcoming books.
Book Signing…What?
I had my first book signing last month, and it was terrific. First, I want to thank Stevenson Public Library and their librarian, Monica Davis, for allowing an indie author to set up in their library and have a book signing.
I had so much fun. Mrs. Davis and the library were kind enough to have a great display in the front of the library and provided some excellent snacks. My sister, Jessica, showed up with her fancy DSLR camera and was able to get some good pictures of the event. I will post some of them below.
I ordered two boxes of paperbacks from Amazon (and nearly sold out by the next day) and had some bookmarks made from Overnight Prints. The bookmarks turned out really well.
Were you able to make it to the book signing? Let me know what you thought about it in the comments below. Missed it? Well, hopefully, you’ll get another chance soon. There’s good news if you really want to get your hands on a signed copy of Reborn. I have been working on adding a shopping feature on the website, so you will be able to pick up a signed copy soon. With that being said, let’s move on to what else I’ve been up to recently.
Life in General
What can I say about life? We’ve all had our lives turned upside down with the COVID-19 pandemic. So, to say life has been busy, stressful, boring, lonely, or any of these things would be an understatement. We are all dealing with it in different ways, and hopefully, life will be back to normal soon.
Some of you may know that I have served in the Army Reserve for nearly 20 years. Wow. It’s hard to believe that it has been that long ago. I joined just before 9/11. I say that to say that as of March, I have been serving on active duty.
The transition has been smoother than I had expected and, although I stay busy with my daily duties, I have had a little more time to work on writing and the overall business of publishing books. Unfortunately, my family was not able to come with me, and because of COVID-19, they have not been able to visit as of yet. But as I said before, I’ve had a little more free time on my hands. So, one thing I have been working on is to get signed copies of Reborn up on the website. I plan to have them up by the beginning of next month. I have also had my hands in a few other projects. Keep reading to find out what that might be.
Upcoming Books
You knew this was coming. I mean, come on. It’s in the title. So, here’s the news. I spoke with my cover designer a few nights ago, and she is adapting the cover for Reborn into a hardback cover and an audiobook cover. Yep. You heard that right. Reborn is coming to hardback and audiobook.
I have been working with a casting director to find the right voice for Tamm. It’s very important to me that the voice fits the characters in Reborn. This is an ongoing process, so I don’t expect to see Reborn on Audible in the next couple of months, but I would like to see it on there by Fall. Also, when the hardback is released, you will be able to get a copy from Barnes and Noble. Once it goes live, if you want a hardback copy, you should be able to either go to the Barnes and Noble website or go into your local B&N store and ask them to order it for you. Asking them to order it actually helps me out more because it increases the likelihood that they will start carrying it in the store. Wouldn’t that be awesome?
With all this time on my hands, I have been working on a prequel novella for Reborn. It will follow a fan-favorite character, and you will be able to step into his life and see how he came to Iradell and what made him the man you all met in Aleesia. Leave your guess as to who it is in the comments. Five points to you if you guess correctly. Once it is finished, you will be able to download it for free from Amazon, my website, and hopefully, numerous other sites such as iBook and Kobo.
I have also dabbled in a psychological thriller. I know it is a far cry from fantasy, but once I started writing it, the ideas just kept flowing. It’s called If Only In My Dreams. I really look forward to you getting to dive into this story. It will be published on several different platforms also.
Last and most important of all, the next book in the Battlemage Trilogy is officially in the works. The story is coming along well, and the outline is almost complete. I hope to start writing it this weekend. My goal is to have it finished and ready to publish this Fall. That is a big feat for me as it took well over a year to release Reborn, and I am going to try to publish book 2 in less than six months. So, feel free to send some encouraging words in the comments below or on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. I will do the title reveal on social media. If you want to be the absolute first to know, then join the VIP list here to get notified of events, reveals, and discounts on books and merchandise.
Now What?
Well, obviously, I have my work cut out for me over the next 5-6 months. So, I should be getting back to writing. If you haven’t gotten your copy of Reborn yet, you can grab a paperback here or an eBook here. If you’re waiting on the hardback or audiobook, hang in there. It’s coming. Thanks for all your support.

Bring it on JB!! I can’t wait to dive into book 2!
I’m anxious to see where Tamm ends up and where his journeys take him. Keep up the good work man and take us all into the world of the battlemages!!
Also I’m looking forward to reading your thriller!!
Thanks Rodney. I really appreciate the support. Things get rough in the second book. I hope you’re ready for it. I can’t wait for you to read the thriller either.
I was just wanting an update for book two of reborn
Hey Wendell! Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for reaching out. I am about to publish a new blog post that will give an update on book 2 and explain why it hasn’t published just yet. It is coming though.
