Who am I?
It’s nice to meet you. I’m James Blackwood. I have always loved creating and telling stories. My furthest memories involve my grandmother sitting all of the grandchildren around and sharing old stories. I remember sitting on the ground, captivated. I guess you could say that I followed in her footsteps.
What do I do?
First and foremost, I am a father and husband. I have been married going on fourteen years this year. I have two wonderful daughters. I have been a nurse for fourteen years also and currently work at a family practice clinic as a nurse practitioner. I have always wanted to be a writer, but have only just began writing fiction over the past couple years.
What do I write and what can you expect to get from this blog?
I typically write fantasy. I love it. I love the way that you can open a good fantasy book and immediately be transported to a whole new world. I have recently finished my first novel, Reborn: Book 1 in The Battlemage Trilogy. It is currently undergoing revisions. I am actively searching for an editor and hope to have the revisions finished by the end of January. I would like to have it published by the end of March, but I am also realistic and I know editors cannot always be accommodating to my timeline. I also have plans for a few urban fantasy and SCI-Fi books. I am currently working on a thriller short story/novella and hope to release it for free download on this website once it is finished. The last two Battlemage books are planned out and I should be starting them soon. I would like to release them no later than a year from each other. A lot of people don’t like to wait to read the whole series and I understand.
As for what you can expect from this blog, I plan to blog twice per week, Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday will consist of discussing my writing process, what I am currently working on, and other whims. On Thursdays, I would like to discuss books that I have read and give you my recommendations on what you should read next. I would also like to hear from you on these posts. We can discuss questions you have regarding my work in progress or give me recommendations of what to read next. That is up to you.
Regardless, I look forward to talking with you and hope you enjoy the blog and my books.

I am eagerly waiting to read your book.
Thanks Vivian. I am eager to release it so that you can read it. I will be looking for beta readers soon, so keep in touch.
