Blast Off of Reborn Content

Thank you all for checking out the prologue to Reborn and helping me blast off some of the content into the cloud…out there…somewhere. I have received a lot of positive feedback so far. Your support really means a lot to me. When I first started writing, I just wanted to get the story finished, get as many people to read it as possible. There is one problem with that. When you first start writing, you’re terrible at it.

Believe it or not, writing takes practice. Lots and lots of practice. I wrote the fist couple chapters to Reborn (back when it didn’t even have a name) in 2014. I started graduate school shortly after that and lost all time to write unless it was a research paper for class. When I finally picked it back up last year and went back to read what I had written…Well, let’s just say I was not impressed.

The more that I write, the more I learn about what is good and what is not. That is why Reborn is not already available to purchase. I want this book to be the best that it can be and proper editing takes time. I plan to have it out by this summer. Thank you all for being patient. But, now that you have had a taste of Reborn, I know you’ll want more. So, let me give you an update.

Social Media Blast off

The desire to release the prologue has been burning inside me for quite some time. I had a few people read it several years ago and it always seemed to make them want to read more. Well, now you have had a taste and with your help, my original post regarding the release has had nearly 1200 people reached. I could not have done that without you.

Truly, you folks are amazing. I have three social media accounts; Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Facebook holds the trophy for most followers at this time with Twitter coming in second and Instagram last. However, I do not have 1200 organic followers. It was your shares, retweets, comments, and likes that helped the post to blast off and reach so many people.

If you have not had a chance to see the post or read the prologue you can find them here: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Blog. Feel free to check them out and share and retweet the posts so that we can reach more people. You are helping me get the word out for this book and I thank you. I’m sure I will call on you again when it is time to blast off the release event of Reborn.

Writers Helping Other Writers

I went to Home Depot Sunday after church to get some mulch for our flower beds. I ran into a young man that worked there that I had met before. The first thing he asked was how the book was coming along. It was humbling to have someone recognize me in public as a local writer.

I thanked him for his interest and told him about the progress and hopefully having the book release in the summer. He had seen the post about the prologue but had not had a chance to read it. We parted ways and I started loading mulch. He came back and told me that enjoyed writing also and that he had been working on a story when he was in high school but never finished.

He asked for any tips or recommendations to get started in writing. We discussed some videos and lectures that I had watched that helped me when I was starting to write. I give some writing advice on my blog from time to time and directed him there also. If you read this blog post TL, let me know how your story is coming along. I would love to read it when you get finished.

One thing that I have learned about writing is that writers love to help each other. There is an entire community on Twitter that is there just to fellowship and help each other out. They are there for words of encouragement when you get another rejection letter for a publishing house and to give you motivation when you really need to knock out those last 1500 words to meet your writing goal for the day.

Writing is an art, but it can be so much more. I believe everyone has a story to tell. The question is are they brave enough to put on paper. I hope you enjoyed the prologue to Reborn. I would like to hear what you thought. Let me know in the comment section below or shoot me an email on my contact page. I look forward to hearing from you.
