Hunting Trip
I just returned from a snow goose hunting trip in the Bootheel of Missouri. Me and five friends loaded up and made the trip across four states. It was cold and rainy for most of the trip, but we had a lot of fun. We stayed in a really nice cabin with a couple other hunting groups. It was nice to meet people from other states that share the same passion for the outdoors.
The first day was tough. The temperature was in the thirties for most of the day and it rained most of the day. There were thousands of geese flying by, but most of them didn’t have any interest in dropping low enough to give us a look. We were able to harvest a couple geese.
We weren’t able to hunt on Saturday. The weather was quite bad. The rains brought flash flooding and there were nearby tornadoes. We were safe and once the storms had passed by, we made a trip into Nashville and visited Bass Pro Shops. We did a little shopping and ate some good food and just hung out and laughed.
We hunted Sunday morning; however, we weren’t very lucky. We didn’t harvest any geese despite the weather being much better. The sun was shinning with a cool wind blowing. We packed our bags and made the trip back home. If you want to see a few pictures of the trip, check out my Instagram. Also, I would like to recommend Fowl Lifestyle Outfitters if you are interested in a duck or goose hunting adventure. Despite, not having many birds come our way that weekend, the guides went above and beyond for us. We will definitely be hunting with them again. Editing Progress Update
Ah, the wonders of editing. I was able to be a little productive while I was away on the hunting trip. I was able to get some reading in during the evenings. Life gets busy and reading has not been very high on my list. Between family time, work, and editing my novel, I have not been reading near as much as I would like, but I was able to hang out in the cabin at night with a book.
The great news is that I was able to fit in some editing also. Not as much as I would like, but I was able to do some editing. I only have a few chapters left to edit. Afterward, I will be typing up all the changes. My goal is to have the edits completed by the first week in March. After that, I will be looking to get the book in the hands of some beta readers. To stay up to date, go sign up for the newsletter on my homepage here. Go follow me on Twitter for a chance to beta read Reborn.
